Description

EarthDye Indigo powder – 3.5 oz (100g)

The natural indigo powder can be used alone in some cases but is mostly used to darken other colors, light brown, dark brown, soft black, copper brown, deep red, mahogany. Combined with henna it can create browns and blacks. Some need to use natural red with indigo to get jet black. Add indigo to dark brown to create blacks, the more indigo you add the darker it will be. For example mix half indigo and half dark brown, it will become black.

100% vegan and chemical-free. It contains no metallic salts or PPD. Safe for all body hair.

Indigo can achieve black on some, however some need to do a 2 step process to achieve jet black. The two-step involves using pure natural red first and then using pure indigo.

100 grams powder is enough to do mid-back length hair with one application. The length of your hair will stay this color, only the new hair growth will need to be touched up as it comes in. Typically hair grows about 1/ 4 inch a month.

I’ve been mixing three parts dark brown to one indigo an very happy with the results. Was happy to find these products as I’m allergic to most hair dye. Found your product to be the best

  2. Birgit Mullen (verified owner)

Great product! I mix it with dark brown to make the color a little darker.

  3. Christian C. (verified owner)

Been with EarthDye since day one when it was formally known as Harvest Moon, so that tells you I’m a devoted repeat customer. Why? Cause I learned to stay with a product that works at first, I was dying my beard using pure indigo, but I noticed now that I’m getting older I have to go with the two-step method but still get great results. I can 100% say EarthDye has a customer for life

    • earthdye (verified owner)

Thank you, Christian! You can also use Dark brown and add indigo to it for black. The more indigo you add to the dark brown (or soft black), the darker it will be.

  4. Thomas Cameron (verified owner)

I’m still trying out product I have to order black and combine it, dark brown wasn’t dark enough. Once I receive my black and mix with indigo

I will return and enter an additional review. So far product is safe and has healthy benefits to my hair.

EarthDye Dark brown on many is almost black on most, so those reading this be careful. Adding EarthDye pure indigo to dark brown can make it black. The more you add the darker it will be. “Some” people can use indigo alone, but it is not as conditioning and might need the extra ingredients in dark brown or soft black to last longer.

  5. C.S. (verified owner)

I have used the Pure Indigo (Black) Natural Hair Dye product for many years now. It is a wonderful product which is very easy to prepare, to apply, and it provides very effective black dye color to my hair. The dye lasts a long time and really covers the gray! Thank you for your wonderful product.

  6. Lucas Bishop (verified owner)

This product works great! No allergic reaction at all, leaves a very natural color after the waiting period is over. I mixed the Dark Oak and Pure Indigo for a one-stage jet black and was very pleased with the results.

    • earthdye (verified owner)

Thank you Lucas! This is a great tip to a one-step black!

  7. AR (verified owner)

Since my original hair color is black, the indigo is amazing to use with other colors like natural burgundy and mahogany to add depth and dimension. It tones down the reds and browns and helps add beautiful highlights to really dark hair.

  8. Harvey Brown (verified owner)

Excellent product!! I had a very bad reaction to Just for Men and my entire face swoll up. I tried using the spray in temporary dye and after smudging my niece’s white blouse I knew I needed a better solution. I finally found EarthDye and the results have been nothing but amazing! I recommend this to anyone that needs a piece of mind or has had a bad reaction to other dyes! This Natural dye is really natural!

      Thank you Harvey!!

  9. Lauren Powers (verified owner)

I like to use this to deepen and tone down the warmer tones in the browns when I feel like a cooler shade. It is fun to experiment with different combinations for subtly different effects. It works well and is of high quality.

    • earthdye (verified owner)

That is awesome! You can mix and match any pf the colors to get different effects. Mahogany and burgundy give a chocolate effect with hints of burgundy.

  10. Sue (verified owner)

This is the first time I’ve used Indigo hair dye. I added it to the dark brown dye and it works very well. I’m still experimenting with it, but so far, things appear darker and it mixes well with the lighter color. I’ll be doing some more empirical work as I go along and finding the best ratio as I use it. I’m happy with the results so far. I also like the smell of the dyes. I have horses, and the dyes smell so much like really good hay! Thank you for producing such a natural and simple product that always works.

    • earthdye (verified owner)

Thank you Sue! Horses love the smell! I have one customer that uses it on her horse, in the psat if she approved the horse whith chemical dye the horse would get upset, when apporoached with EarthDye, the horse got gitty and happy, even the horse knows! Great inmformation thank you!!
