EarthDye Black is Better

(100 grams Pure Henna & 100 grams Indigo (200 grams total))
No chemicals mean this color will not lighten your current hair color. This color will turn gray/white/silver/blonde/brown/red hair to a sparkling black shade. Any darker strands of hair will darken up to a very nice jet black.

natural black hair dye

100 grams powder is enough to do bra-length hair or on men’s facial hair up to 15-30 times, depending on the length and thickness of the hair.  Touch up your hair as needed or when roots come in. If you trim your facial hair weekly, then you will have to reapply once the dyed hair is trimmed. If you keep the hair long your will only need to do root touch-ups as the new hair growth becomes noticeable. Our natural black hair dye, looks natural, prepare to be amazed!

After facing issues with allergic reactions to chemical hair dyes, this product has been a blessing to maintaining my hair colour as black. With clear instructions provided on how to get the best results, this product works well when used as instructed. The colour develops over 24-48 hours so as suggested best to use in the evening so the colour looks like it should by the morning.

Earthdye Natural Jet Black is GREAT!!!! Its the only one for me. Easy application, fabulous results! Since my skin gets irritated with any chemical beard, finding Earthdye is my go to ALL NATURAL DYE!!
    Thanks Guys

This is my first time trying EarthDye products! I have been dying my hair black with a 2 step henna/indigo for many years, but wanted to try out your brand. I feel as though I’ll be permanently switching to yours, I LOVE the quality!

I do have a question…I have naturally very dark brown hair. I always use the 2 step process but in the past with other brands I have left both the henna and the indigo on for several hours. I recall my hair being a jet black, even with a hint of the blue-black(which i LOVE) even when the sun hits it after this process.
With your dyes, my hair is indeed a jet black, but in the light it still has a hint of brown highlight. I followed the procedure as written in the instructions. I really like that I don’t have to leave it on for many hours!
My question is, would it be appropriate to dye once more with indigo alone to see if the highlights of brown will become black?

Thanks so much! Very happy customer here!!!

Thanks cat for your review! The color will get darker over a few days, however if you want it even darker you can go over it again with indigo. You can also mix in hibiscus tea/bud ice with the water for a blueish tint. Just do not add to much, or it can become lavender. You can learn more about that here:

    100% FIVE STARS!!
I can’t praise this company enough for their products! I have been using beard dyes for years. I use to use JFM beard dyes but for some reason my face started to have seriously bad reactions to the chemicals in their product. I was admitted to the hospital twice with major burns to my face due to JFM beard dye. My symptoms included; open sores, oozing, swelling, itching, burning etc. It was horrible!! It took me almost a year of trying various other companies to finally run across EarthDye. Their product is all natural-no hazardous chemical-hence zero chemical burns or other negative reactions. The dyeing process takes a little longer but it is soooo worth it! No more pain or discomfort! ZERO! AND, the product produces the perfect desired effect! I have a black beard that I trim every 4 or 5 days and I use the COMBO of Pure Indigo and Natural Red. The combo works perfectly and prevents the beard from looking purple or orange. It looks naturally black. I use (1) tsp natural red and (3) tsp pure indigo and mix it with some water to produce a “ketchupy” consistency. I apply it and leave it on for (1) hour. Yes, that’s a bit of time but it is so worth it. When I first wash it off in the shower (just water-no soap or shampoo), my beard has a green tint to it but that goes away in about (2) hours after it oxidizes. Therefore, it makes sense to do it at night so that it allows the the green tint to turn black while you sleep. I’ve been using their products for 3 years now and I LOVE THEM!! Definitely try them. You will be thrilled that you did!! And hey, thank you again Earth Dye for your amazing products!!

  7. DALIYA BANERJEE

I would like to purchase this product as i am looking for a natural hair dye alternative. I have a quick question- after the first application and rinse, do I need to dry my hair to apply the indigo dye?
Also can they be mixed together to get the same result faster?

    Thanks

    • earthdye

Hi, it can be towel dry. Damp is fine.

    • earthdye

Sorry did not see the second question, yes they can be mixed together. There are 4 ways to get black. Here is the information: https://www.earthdye.com/four-ways-to-achieve-black/

  8. Joe F Flores (verified owner)

Love this Product tried several other ones that promised good results but it wasn’t like I wanted it. but this product delivers true black color that stays on my Beard and looks so natural I use the 2 step method use clarifier shampoo to wash oils off then mix my color with hot water in a small container. step one leave in for 40 min I use a tea spoon to spread it in and on beard works great then rinse off after 40 min go to step 2 same procedure and done! next day it’s colored nice and natural dark black like it used to be when i was younger I Recomended this product it’s great !

    • earthdye

Thank you Joe! Some can get away with 30/30! Give it a try! Or the first step 30 and the second step 40.

  9. Romy Owens (verified owner)

This product and I go way back. I was introduced to it by a cousin with fabulous hair and this was her natural hair dye secret weapon. Been a fan ever since. Love the separate henna and indigo packaging. I sometimes add a little indigo to my deep conditioner to color the new growth. My hair loves the henna treatments and I use it for more than the regular color treatment. I am a devoted fan.

    • earthdye

Thank you Romy! The two-sept black is very powerful and really gets hair into tip-top shape like all of our hair dyes!

  10. Angela (verified owner)

I have always been pleased and got good results with this product, but it is time-consuming. Just read that if I mix dark brown and indigo I can do a 1 step process and get jet black, I will try that next. Great product, great results, great price, and fast delivery. I am severely allergic to hair dye and have never had a reaction to any of your products.

    • earthdye

Hi Angela! Thanks for your feedback! Yes, the two-step black can be time-consuming, but also very rewarding. Mixing Dark brown and indigo cuts the time in half and is also rewarding. Give it a try!
